Holly Caccamise has been with Horse Illustrated and Young Rider since 2007, and in August 2019, she was promoted to Editor in Chief. She contributed to Horse Illustrated winning 1st place in the General Excellence category for a self-supported publication (circulation 15,000 and over) at the American Horse Publications Equine Media Awards in 2019, as well as an Honorable Mention in the same awards category in 2021.

Before getting involved in the editorial side of print media, she worked as an award-winning ad copywriter for Thoroughbred Times magazine. Caccamise has an M.S. in Animal Science from the University of Kentucky, where she studied equine nutrition and exercise physiology, and a B.S.in Biology from UCLA. Caccamise has also worked as a research assistant, horse camp counselor, vaulting instructor, and as a top-level show groom in the three-day eventing world.

Mary Cage, Digital Content Coordinator

Mary Cage joined the EG Media team in 2022, bringing with her a strong background as both a competitor and a professional in the equine industry. Before becoming the Digital Content Coordinator at EG Media, Cage gained experience at a marketing agency along with multiple roles in the equine industry, primarily in horse racing. Her photography and written work has been featured in America’s Horse, American Racehorse, the Appaloosa Journal, BloodHorse, Equine Chronicle, the Paint Horse Journal, Paulick Report, The Thoroughbred Daily News, and various other publications. Cage earned a bachelor of arts in journalism, with a concentration in advertising and a minor in marketing, from the University of North Texas. Cage also holds multiple National Championship and Reserve World Championship titles with the Appaloosa Horse Club.
